Winter Shorelines

Strolls on the beach are less crowded in January, but it can leave you a little numb.

Sometime in January I went for a walk along the beach between north and south end pavilion in Spring Lake on a pretty chilly and windy day that had me questioning why I hadn’t gone with heavier duty gloves.

I had just acquired some new camera gear and wanted to test out how much reach I had with my new kit in capturing the tide. There were still some kinks to work out with the equipment and adjusting to the new focal length that my zoom lens offered, but for an early shoot I was pretty happy with the images I started out with and hope they serve as a baseline for future beach shoots.

A slightly warmer, less windy day would be preferred.
